There’s a method to the madness.<\/p>\n
If you’ve never actually written a book, stacking up 100,000 words seems like a near impossible task.\u00a0 For that matter, there are still days when writing 250 words (the number on your average paperback page, or so I’m told) is daunting.<\/p>\n
And the whole process seems impossible, until you do it at least once.\u00a0 For me, several years ago, NaNoWriMo kicked me into actually finishing a book.\u00a0 A short book, no doubt.\u00a0 But a book.\u00a0 I’d written it from end to end, and if anything, writing is like a muscle.\u00a0 The more you do it, the easier it gets to power through when words aren’t just flowing.<\/p>\n
Now I’ve written seven, four of which are relatively fit for human consumption.<\/p>\n
I’m not doing NaNo this year, because with one novel I’m preparing for you, one I’m polishing, and one I’m drafting, I’ve got my hands full.\u00a0 For those of you who are, I cheer you on.<\/p>\n
